Modern Web Interfaces for IT Professionals
Modis, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Adecco Group, is a provider of IT staffing services. The website is largely accessed by candidates looking for IT jobs, so it was important that the site appear modern and be built using up-to-date technology. Having a responsive web design was also imperative, so that candidates accessing the site on smart phones could browse and apply to jobs.
Better Access to Job Searches for Candidates
Before the home page redesign, through analytics research, I found that the entire first fold on most laptop screens accessing the site was used up with a rotating carousel, hiding the #1 goal below the fold. By reducing the size of this branding piece, we had room to create a job search widget at the top of the page, followed by a call to action. The carousel also gained new functionality with the Salary Look Up tool, which was originally just a link to a page with the tool.
All of these new elements collapse seamlessly when accessed on a smart phone, so that the job search widget is the main feature on the home page, followed by a list of branch locations.
